Time AUT 2 - Sailing With Friends
Dear sailing enthusiasts, What do I mean by "sailing with friends"? When I started sailing more than 50 years ago, I knew even as a boy that I would one day sail around the world. In recent years, as I've already begun "sailing with friends," I've develo...

Boat descriptionSunbeam 53 Owner's Version, 2 guest cabins (V-berth and bunk bed), 1 single berth, owner's cabin Completely refitted in 2025 and 2026 and continuously inspected for safety, comfort, and style ever since. Fully equipped for the ARC Atlantic. I can sail the boat single-handed and sometimes I do it. However, I prefer to take interesting people with me and share life on board, the local conditions, the food, the cultures, the music, and so on. For me, the people on board aren't just passengers, but guests, connoisseurs, vacationers, learners, milebuilders and of course fellow sailors. For the comfort and safety of guests, all bedding (blankets, pillows, sheets, etc.), towels, as well as safety vests, lifebuoys, life jackets, and PLBs are on board. Extensive sailing equipment (gennaker, Code Zero, double forestay for Genoa 1 and Genoa 3, etc.) Generator, watermaker, solar panels, Starlink, Iridium, new Highfield dinghy with 10 hp outboard motor I usually take crew members who contribute to the boat's expenses (fuel, harbor fees, basic provisions). They also contribute towards the use of the boat and its equipment. The amount of this contribution depends on the crew members' skills (e.g., cooking, local knowledge, sailing experience, etc.), the lengths of their stay and they are individual abilities.

Tom is absolutely amazing!
I joined Tom for 5 days as crew on his vessel, Time AUT, from Fort Lauderdale to Jacksonville Florida. Tom is an absolutely amazing captain and person overall. He is extremely knowledgeable of all things sailing and prioritizes safety. A goal of mine has been to improve my sailing skills and Tom was a great teacher. He was always quick to answer any questions and extend his knowledge of sailing. After sailing with Tom, I not only consider him an amazing captain and teacher but also a great friend! I’m excited to follow his journey and hopefully crew for him again!

Couldn't Have Asked For A Better Captain
Tom was an absolute delight. Not only is he enjoyable to be around (and that matters when you spend 2 weeks on a boat with someone) but he's also a very knowledgeable and experienced captain. We got hit with a couple random storms and Tom was cool as a cucumber. I was new to sailing and keen on learning the ropes and Tom was an amazing teacher. All in all, couldn't have asked for a better captain.

Racing through the waves
What a beautiful, well equipped boat and what an experienced skipper. Thomas is everytime at Regatta mode which makes the saling to something outstanding .. how to trim the sails to get faster, how to set the best course to adopt the wind conditions and reach the outmost ... training session through all stay long :-) Be aware - cooks are more than highly wellcomed :-) and very much appreciated besides your sailing support . A great and highest recommandable team - Captain Tom and his TimeAut

Adventure of my life!
Me and my friends were searching for an adventure and were hoping for something but we got everything. Thomas was not just an amazing captain but also a nice person and someone i would spend my time with every day again. My expectations of the sailing trip were exceeded in every respect and thomas played a big part in this. Also the Time AUT is an awsome ship. Now after almost 4 weeks of sailing i am still searching for the right wording the express the joy that i had on this trip, so all i can say is that with all my hearth i couldnt imagine a better ship with a better captain then Thomas with the TimeAUT!

Tenerife to Lanzarote
I had the most amazing experince with Thomas and Time Aut, sailing the Canarian Islands. Thomas is a very experienced and safe sailor. He holds lots of knoweldge both in sailing and in general, and generously shares it. He’s a very good instructor and keeps calm even in stressful situations. Thomas is always nice and polite, making his crew feel comfortable and is also an interesting person to be around. The boat is beautiful, well equipped, clean and very well maintained.

Bahama's to FL 2024
I spent three weeks on Thomas' yacht and from day one felt safe and secure due to his excellent sailing experience and knowledge. He was always very happy to share and teach, as well as making me feel very welcome and indeed part of his round the world adventure. Importantly, I was made to feel at home, something which is very important when there are just two of you for three weeks of intense sailing. We successfully caught and filleted a Mahi Mahi and Wahoo which was fantastic fun. I would thoroughly recommend crewing with Thomas and would very much welcome a chance to sail with him again.
