Deckhand - Temporary / Seasonal - €3500 - Italy
M/Y GONE AWAY, a 29m motor yacht based in Sardinia, is looking for an experienced deckhand for the month of September 2026, with a strong possibility of extending for several weeks into October.
The role combines standard deck duties with tender and chase boat work. Day to day this means washdowns, exterior maintenance, teak and stainless care, line handling, tender operations, and supporting guests during water sports and trips ashore. You will also be responsible for the handling and upkeep of our chase boat BYE BYE, a SACS Indaco 50. Confident, safe driving of a fast tender in varied conditions, including beach landings and night runs, is essential to this position.
We are cruising the Sardinian coast and nearby islands during the best part of the season, so expect warm settled weather, calm water and a well organised programme.
Candidates already based in Sardinia or elsewhere in Italy are at a clear advantage, as the position starts at short notice and no relocation or travel allowance is provided. Fluent Italian is essential for daily dealings with ports, agents, fuel docks and local suppliers, alongside fluent English on board. All applicants must hold the right to live and work in the EU and Schengen area.
Salary is €3,500 net per month, with accommodation and food on board.
We are looking for someone proactive, presentable and easy to live with in a small crew, with previous experience on private motor yachts of a similar size and a genuine eye for detail on exterior work.
