Experienced Captain available for deliveries
Having recently completed my role as Boat Captain on an 18m Classic Yawl in the Mediterranean, I am now seeking a temporary position to further my sailing experience while taking my sextant sights for the YM Ocean qualification. I am eager to gain exposure to different boats and programs while learning from experienced professionals.
I have a strong sailing background, with extensive experience in keelboat racing, classic yacht racing, cruising, offshore racing, and big-boat day sailing. In addition, I possess significant boat-building experience, though I am not a qualified boat builder, and I am very competent with both running and standing rigging.
As a trustworthy and capable watchkeeper, I have undertaken numerous deliveries over the past 20 years, including 200-300 mile passages in the Mediterranean, two transatlantic crossings, and various smaller deliveries on different vessels. Most recently, I participated in the Middle Sea Race from Malta as a watch leader and helm on a Neo 430.
I am a calm and solution-oriented sailor, even in challenging situations. I take a proactive approach to sailing and am always willing to get my hands dirty to complete the necessary tasks during long deliveries.
