Fellow sailor with versatile skills seeks crew in/around Europe
Hi everyone!
I'm Matthias, and I'm looking for a sailing opportunity in **August or September 2026**. I'm flexible with both dates and destination—the location is much less important to me than sailing with kind, experienced people who enjoy sharing their knowledge.
This April, I completed my **Skipper licence (IC Certified)**, which is roughly comparable to the **RYA Day Skipper** qualification. My journey into sailing has only just begun, and I'm eager to build real experience. I already feel completely at home on a boat and would love to spend as much time on the water as possible while continuing to learn.
Before that, I gained experience on small, sporty sailing boats on lakes and have also spent some time sailing at sea on relaxed family trips. Now I'm looking for opportunities to become more involved, take an active role in sailing and learn from experienced skippers and crews.
I love working with wood, repairing things and solving practical problems. For example, I built my own camper van, which I lived in for a year. Professionally, I'm a photographer and motion graphic designer, so I'd also be happy to contribute with photos, videos or other creative projects if that's useful.
Besides sailing, I enjoy cooking together, sharing experiences and having great conversations.
I'm curious, a fast learner and very hands-on—whether it's sailing manoeuvres, maintenance or everyday life on board. I'm looking forward to gaining more sea miles, improving my skills, meeting great people and sharing some unforgettable adventures.
