I am a dedicated and versatile maritime professional with extensive experience in diving instruction, deckhand duties, and guest services. I am actively seeking opportunities aboard a yacht where I can contribute to a dynamic team and help deliver exceptional onboard experiences. I am also happy to support in the galley or assist with other duties as required.
My background includes a unique blend of certifications and practical experience, such as a PADI MSDT Dive Instructor qualification, IYT Small Power Boat & RIB Master certification, RYA Jetski Instructor accreditation, and specialised training from HM Coast Guards in the United Kingdom. Additionally, I am a trained Yorkshire Ambulance Community First Responder, prepared to confidently handle a variety of medical emergencies.
My experience extends to serving as a Shore Excursion Officer on the NCL Norwegian Jewel cruise ship, providing valuable insights into maritime operations and guest relations. I also possess extensive luxury hospitality experience, including working at Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai as an advanced 4x4 dune driving safari guide—organizing romantic Dune dinners and gaining guest interaction experience through falconry. My other qualifications include digital content creation on Canva, IAIM G.U.E.S.T Deckhand, STCW 2010, VHF certifications, Level 3 Food Hygiene, and a role as Activities Manager at a luxury resort.
Growing up in KwaZulu-Natal, I developed a passion for fishing—from fly fishing in lakes and rivers to skippering my brother’s 29ft Cat Pro Sport, powered by twin Yamaha 225 four-stroke engines. This hands-on experience has refined my boat handling and seamanship skills, as well as my ability to think practically and make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
I thrive in team environments, am a fast learner, and take direction well, always aiming to exceed expectations and deliver five-star service. I excel at anticipating guest needs, going the extra mile to ensure their comfort and enjoyment, while maintaining a safe environment onboard.
While my primary interests are in deckhand or dive instructor roles, I am eager to contribute wherever necessary. I also bring additional skills, including my expertise in making exceptional biltong, cultivated during my ownership of Barefoot Biltong in the UK. My personal interests include fishing, novice drone flying, and digital content creation.
