My name is Pedro, I’m 39 years old, I live in the city of La Plata, Argentina, and I’m really looking forward to continuing to sail. I hold a Sailboat and Motorboat Skipper’s License, as well as a valid Seaman’s Book, since I completed my training as a Deckhand and Marine Engineer’s Assistant with the Merchant Marine; however, I don’t work in that field—instead, I work in the courts as an administrative assistant.
I sail on the Río de La Plata and frequently cross over to the ports of Colonia del Sacramento and Riachuelo in Uruguay. I take every opportunity to sail at the Club Regatas de La Plata, of which I’m a member; now I’m looking to log more miles because I want to undertake various voyages. All my other sailing experiences have been as a tourist—in Ushuaia, Patagonia, and Brazil—which is how I discovered this fascination with sailing.—
I really enjoy hiking in the Andes and exploring the Patagonian lakes; overall, Argentina is a wonderful country, and I’m in love with it. As a hobby, I play chess, but I’m also passionate about hands-on work: I’m currently learning to weld with an electric welder, and next year I’ll have to choose between an automotive mechanics course or an intensive fiberglass boatbuilding course, since I won’t be able to do both.—

Me llamo Pedro, tengo 39 años, vivo en la ciudad de La Plata, Argentina, y tengo muchas ganas de seguir navegando. Cuento con la credencial de Patrón de Yate a Vela y Motor, también con la Libreta de Embarco al día, ya que terminé la formación como Marinero de Cubierta y Auxiliar de Máquinas Navales de la Marina Mercante, pero no trabajo en ello sinó que en tribunales, como administrativo.-
Navego por el Río de La Plata, frecuentemente cruzo a los puertos de Colonia del Sacramento y Riachuelo, en el Uruguay, aprovecho a navegar cuanto puedo en el Club Regatas de La Plata, del cual soy socio; ahora estoy buscando extender millas porque quiero realizar distintas travesías. Todas mis demás experiencias en navegación fueron como turista, en Ushuaia, en la patagonia y en Brasil, así descubrí esta fascinación por la navegación.-
Me gusta mucho caminar por la cordillera de los andes y recorrer los lagos patagónicos, en términos generales Argentina es un país maravilloso y estoy enamorado de ella. Como pasatiempo juego al ajedrez, pero también me entusiasman los trabajos manuales: ahora estoy aprendiendo a soldar con máquina eléctrica, y para el año próximo debe elegir entre el curso de mecánica automotriz o el de práctico reforzado en fibra de vidrio, porque no podré hacer los dos.-
