Looking for a Deckhand, Stew/Deck, Competent Crew or Voluntary work position
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Deckhand, Stew/Deck, Competent Crew or Voluntary work. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people! I am a perspicacious and active person, very passionate about the sea and sharing that passion. I have a lot of experience with hospitality and tourism, but during my personal and work life I've tried a lot of different things, such as teaching yoga and languages, bartending, waitering, tour guiding and farm work. So I became very adaptable, versatile and a quick learner, any help you need I am willing and able to do it. About a year ago I discovered my passion for boats and I started working on 30-50ft sailing yachts doing day tours and sailing experiences, I learned a lot about line-handling, sailing, knots and overall work on deck. More recently I had the opportunity to work on a 26m private sailing yacht as a Deck/Stew and did a lot of boat maintenance, such as sanding, painting, mast lubrication, teak cleaning, water line cleaning and polishing. During my time working on this boat we also went sailing for two weeks. On the interior I did housekeeping, laundry and light cooking. After this experience I feel more confident and eager to keep learning and progressing. If we get the chance to work together, you can expect a dedicated, realiable and hands on sailor.
