Looking for a Friendship position
Hello! I’m very interested in joining you for your sailing voyage. My name is Friedrich, I’m 25 years old, from Germany, and will be finishing my studies in November. After that, I’d like to fulfill a long-held dream: an extended sailing trip across the Atlantic.
The sea has fascinated me since childhood. I often sailed with my uncle on a lake in Germany and earned my children’s sailing certificate there. Of course, a lake is not the open sea, but it was where I discovered my passion for sailing. Over the years, sailing faded a little into the background, until I took a university sailing course last year. Since then, I’ve been determined to take on a bigger voyage. For any sailing enthusiast, crossing the Atlantic is the ultimate adventure.
I’m available from mid to late November, with no fixed end date. A bit about me: I’m friendly, humorous, and communicative, but I also respect the need for privacy and quiet, which is especially important in a confined space. I’ve lived in shared flats for many years, so I’m used to living with people from different backgrounds, adapting easily, and taking responsibility in daily life. My interests include reading, board games, yoga, and sports, all things I can bring on board. I’m fit, resilient, and not easily put off by demanding conditions. While I don’t yet have offshore experience and only limited sailing practice overall, I’m highly motivated, eager to learn, and ready to take responsibility.
I’m also a passionate hobby cook, I don’t just enjoy cooking, my friends and family also say I’m pretty good at it. I’d be happy to take care of meals on board, and I’m of course willing to stand night watches, clean, and help with any other tasks.
I speak fluent German and English, good Spanish, and can also get by in French, so I’m comfortable in an international crew.
I’m reliable, responsible, and take safety at sea very seriously. It’s important to me that everyone feels safe and comfortable, and I’m ready to contribute to that, both in everyday life and in more demanding situations.
