After 22 years of working with great pleasure as a yacht damage repair specialist, I want to make a career switch from yacht builder to working in the sailing industry.
I have been sailing my own 43-foot boat recreationally for four years now, so I have a fair amount of experience, but there is still plenty to learn.
Although I really enjoy my work as a damage repair specialist, it is time for me to spend more time on the water and turn my hobby into my profession.
I am primarily seeking work as a deckhand, sailor, or assistant mate, with the side job of maintaining and/or preparing the vessel I am currently sailing on. This allows me to keep the boat in top condition and carry out necessary repairs.
Furthermore, I am primarily looking to assist with delivery assignments or to work as an assistant/sailor for skippers in the charter industry. My ultimate goal is to gain enough experience to eventually sail as a skipper or first mate myself.
