Looking for a Competent Crew, Mile building or Delivery Crew position
Dear Shipmates, I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew, Mile building or Delivery Crew.
My Qualifications:
Boaters Card
Radio Operator Certificate (Marine)
ASA 101 Keelboat
ASA 103 Coastal Cruising
ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising
ASA 114 Cruising Catamaran … to be completed …
Scuba PADI Rescue Diver along with First Aid/AED/O2 Provider
Scuba PADI Advanced Open Water / Nitrox
ATPL License (Airline Transport Pilot License) and Seaplane Rating
Now retired from the airline industry and with lots of seaplane time as well, I find it a very natural transition to pursue my adventures on a sailboat, perhaps one day, my own….
I now hold a Bareboat Cruising License and I am very eager to continue learning and build some sea miles with a safe crew and vessel whether that would be Passages or Deliveries.
As a crew, I have crossed the Gulf Stream over to the Bahamas, sailed some of the Great Australian Barrier Reef, sailed on the Canadian Great Lakes, did a couple of Sea of Cortez crossings and sailed some of New Zealand. Nearly all my experience is on 35-50ft Monos. I really enjoy all aspects of sailing and as much as the winds will allow.
I have no problems doing my share of chores onboard, planning provisioning, keeping the boat tidy, cooking or keeping watches (night & day).
As a person, I keep myself fit and healthy. I am calm, polite, discreet and often perceived as highly organised, motivated, self-disciplined and efficient. As well, I am very enthusiastic and love to laugh, tell stories, share adventures and make friends along the way. I have spent a lot of my time in remote wilderness areas and can easily live off the grid. I love to travel and spend my onshore time hiking, exploring new places and getting to know local cultures. I am a strong confident swimmer and love snorkelling and scuba diving.
My schedule is open after April 1st/2026. If you would like to set up a video call to see if our interests align please let me know. Thank you for your consideration,
Helene

Sailing NZ
Helene and I sailed together for a month in New Zealand. I found her to be an excellent crew who takes direction well and has a good understanding of how things work. Helene was great in the galley as sous chef and also creating some tasty ,meals, always eager to clean up and keep things tidy and clean. Helene also helped re organise some things onboard. She is full of energy and pleasant to have onboard. I highly recommend Helene as crew and hope one day we will sail together again.
