Looking for a Competent Crew, Mile building or Delivery Crew position
Dear Shipmates, I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew, Mile building or Delivery Crew.
My Qualifications:
American Sailing Association (ASA) Licenses 101 – 103 – 104 (Bareboat) – 114 (Cat)
Boaters Card & Marine Radio Operator Certificate
Scuba PADI Rescue Diver & Advanced Open Water
ATPL License (Airline Transport Pilot License) and Seaplane Rating
Dear Shipmates,
Now retired from the airline industry and with lots of seaplane time as well, I find it a very natural transition to pursue my adventures on a sailboat, perhaps one day, my own….
I hold a Bareboat Cruising License and I am very eager to continue learning and building some sea miles with a safe crew and vessel whether that would be Passages, Deliveries or Cruising. I really enjoy all aspects of sailing and as much as the winds will allow.
Crew Experience 2025-2026 on 40'-50' Monohulls & Catamarans:
TOTALS: about 7500NM & over 6 months at sea
Maine - Portugal: TransAtlantic Crossing
Florida - Maine: Coastal Navigation
New Zealand North Island: Cruising
Mexico - Sea of Cortez: Crossing/Cruising
Canadian Great Lakes: ASA Sailing Courses
Florida - Bahamas: Crossing
I am an active crew member, seeking continuous experience at sea by assisting my captain with sail configurations, navigation, optimum weather routing, VHF Radio Com, keeping watches (night & day), boat maintenance and more.
I have no problems doing my share of chores onboard such as planning provisioning, cooking, keeping the boat tidy, cleaning hulls or running errands with the dinghy.
As a person, I keep myself fit and healthy. I am calm, polite, discreet and often perceived as highly organised, motivated, self-disciplined and efficient. As well, I am very enthusiastic and love to laugh, tell stories, share adventures and make friends along the way. I have spent a lot of my time in remote wilderness areas and can easily live off the grid. I love to travel and spend my onshore time hiking and exploring new places. I am a strong confident swimmer and love snorkelling and scuba diving.

Sailing NZ
Helene and I sailed together for a month in New Zealand. I found her to be an excellent crew who takes direction well and has a good understanding of how things work. Helene was great in the galley as sous chef and also creating some tasty ,meals, always eager to clean up and keep things tidy and clean. Helene also helped re organise some things onboard. She is full of energy and pleasant to have onboard. I highly recommend Helene as crew and hope one day we will sail together again.
