Looking for a Novice Crew, Competent Crew or Friendship position
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Novice Crew, Competent Crew or Friendship based is fine.
I Completed the brief RYA Competent Crew Summer 2020* and recently the RYA Day Skipper course, April 2023.
* I did this course with my Turkish partner and although she is still interested in Sailing, the bug grabbed me more than it did her, so I continued my studies.
In a nutshell, courses are useful and I am reading different materials and accounts about sailing and cruising, but I have not been getting out there hands on. Thinking that active crew as an (almost) novice may be the best way to go forward.
I don't want to travel too far initially and so short trips around the South of Turkey, or Med are fine for starters, before I think about going further afield. I do however, want to improve my sailing skills and knowledge, as well as the physical experience of being aboard, which has been limited, to date.
Currently retired and living in Turkiye.
