Looking for a Competent Crew, Friendship or Novice Crew position
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew, Friendship or Novice Crew. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people!
What am I looking for? To spend a week or two at sea in a relaxed environment, and to learn.
I’m 55 years old, with solid mountain experience and over 10 years as a member of the Mountain Rescue service. I hold a nautical license (for vessels up to 12m, sail/motor) and completed a 7-day offshore sailing course in Monfalcone in September 2024. I occasionally go out for day trips on a friend’s Mini 6.50. On weekends, I’m often out on the water—kayaking on lakes, rivers, or streams, or windsurfing. Until 2022, I used to sail my Hobie Cat 16 (which I’ve since sold) 15–20 times a year on the local Lake Santa Croce.
If anyone has a spot available for a one- or two-week trip in November—even outside the Upper Adriatic area (I live in Belluno)—I’d love to hear from you; naturally, I’m happy to share the expenses. I’m also interested in winter weekend trips in the Upper Adriatic. While I wouldn’t claim to be an expert at tasks like reefing the sails at night, I’m quite handy and capable with routine operations. I work as bank consultant and have a B2 level of English.
