Looking for a Mile building position, friendship and good vibes included!
My partner (Baptiste, French, 34 years) has done over 3000nm in Europe, including the Channel and the Gulf of Biscaye. Before that, he sailed daylong regattas in Australia, where he also did boat maintenance (mostly on the hull: sanding, painting, and polishing). I don't have the same experience, but am generally handy. My jobs in festival construction and a hotel make me happy to carry heavy stuff as well as to cook and clean. I learn quickly and thanks to climbing know how to manage ropes. We are both happy to keep night watches and help with any jobs! We are also open to contributing financially to groceries and other running costs (fuel, marinas, etc).
We are calm, thoughtful, and responsible people that love being outside, hopping on rocks and birdwatching. We also love silly jokes and small dances to keep the mood light. Clear communication and expectation management are important, but in any emergency we prioritise safety and the captain's orders!
When not on the boat we love swimming, snorkeling, as well as the mountains. We both hike and climb, and are generally pretty active. Baptiste has a background in history, and Robin in English literature and French folk dances, so plenty to speak about! We are easy going and don't need much to be happy :).
We are currently on the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria) and looking forward to meeting some new people for a sailing adventure. We want to sail as soon as possible, so we don't mind traveling throughout Europe (and a bit further) to come and meet the boat for short trips or ocean crossings. Fair winds!
