Miles for experience, teamwork for the journey
Hi, I’m Ilaria. I’m 42 and sailing has been part of my life since childhood, when I used to go out with my family.
Between 15 and 35 I put many personal passions on hold — reading, sailing, hiking — and dedicated most of my time to scouting and group activities, from travel groups to discover new things like cycling for example.
In 2020 I left my previous job and consciously reclaimed that part of myself. Since then, books are a constant presence again, and sailing has become a real priority. But since with my brother I run a small manifacturer company time is limited.
I obtained my Italian offshore sailing license (beyond 12 nautical miles) in 2022. I work full time near Venice, so I sail mainly on weekends and during August. Throughout the year I train with a sailing team based in Monfalcone and join cruises, deliveries and longer passages whenever possible — Rome to the Aeolian Islands, Cardiff to Dublin to Oban, and even northern Norway.
I hold a valid sailing license and have hands-on experience at sea. I’m steadily building miles, confident in my skills and genuinely eager to keep learning. I’m happy to contribute to all onboard activities — from manoeuvres and watchkeeping to cooking and daily tasks. I’m used to working as part of a crew, sharing responsibility and maintaining a positive, collaborative atmosphere.
Available in August and motivated to gain solid, meaningful experience.
For me, being at sea also means appreciating silence — the kind of quiet that clears your mind and makes you feel present. At the same time, I truly enjoy meaningful conversations and exchanging ideas. I’m curious by nature and passionate about culture, books, and stories.
Whenever possible, I love going ashore to hike, explore new places, and discover local realities. I’m happy to help others, onboard and off, and to contribute not only practically but also to a positive and thoughtful atmosphere within the crew.
