Delivery Skipper & Offshore Crew | Challenging Passages Welcome

Dear Captain or Owner,

If your passage is routine, you don't need me. If it's complicated — short-handed, off-season, awkward routing, or a boat that's not quite plug-and-play — that's where I earn my place.

I came to sailing in 2021 through mountaineering and paragliding: a certified rock climbing instructor and licensed paragliding pilot and instructor, both disciplines where systematic risk management is not optional. I spent years making high-stakes decisions in dynamic environments — reading weather, managing loads and rigging, and knowing when to push and when to stop. That mindset transferred directly into offshore work and continues to shape every passage I plan.

Since 2021 I have logged over 4,000 nautical miles, 30 months at sea, with many offshore passages. Key runs include a solo delivery of a 28ft catamaran from Germany to Sweden (2021), onward to France (2022), and a Tiki 38 from the North Sea to Gibraltar (2024–2025), both solo or short-handed. I am currently based in Lanzarote and active — including ongoing amateur rescue operations.

Beyond the certificates — I have practical knowledge of NMEA 2000, AIS, DSC, autopilot systems and software. I had converted two sailboats to fully self-sufficient electric propulsion running on wind and solar. If something electronic fails offshore, I can likely diagnose and fix it.

My meteorology background is serious and applied — built through years of mountain and flight planning where a bad call has direct personal consequences. I use it for strategic passage planning.

On risk: I am not a thrill-seeker. I won't push a boat onto a lee shore to make a tide. But I am also not crew who turns back at the first uncomfortable forecast or treats missing electronics as a showstopper. I assess conditions methodically, weigh options, and commit to a decision. Radar, autopilot, AIS, and an engine are all welcome aboard. I simply don't treat their absence as grounds to stand down.

I am fit, rarely seasick, a confident swimmer, organised, sober on passage, and I travel light. I prefer to work in a team. Should a full crew not be available, I can work solo or short-handed.

Available now from Lanzarote. Flexible on duration and destination.

For deliveries, difficult passages, or any situation where you need crew who has genuinely operated in demanding conditions and kept their head.
