Selling Everything for a Life Under Sail
Hello, my name is Adam, and after four years of planning I’m finally making the transition to a life at sea.
I currently work as a construction project manager in British Columbia, Canada, but I’ll be leaving BC at the end of August to pursue sailing full-time. My plan is to begin crewing throughout the Caribbean, make my way to Panama by the end of the year, and hopefully continue across the Pacific and beyond.
My maritime background includes owning and living aboard sailboats, volunteering with Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, and spending significant time on the water in a variety of conditions.
I’ve always been drawn to life on the water. I’m an avid scuba diver and freediver, and I enjoy kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, exploring coastlines, and generally finding excuses to be in or around the ocean. I’m also a an artist, and I’m hoping to bring that part of my life with me as I travel through graphite and sketchbooks. I love spending time outdoors, observing new places, and capturing them through creativity.
Professionally, I manage complex construction projects, coordinate teams, solve problems under pressure, and take responsibility for getting things done safely and efficiently. I bring the same mindset aboard a vessel: show up, work hard, learn quickly, and contribute wherever needed.
I’m physically fit, easygoing, dependable, non-smoking, and clean-living. I enjoy meeting new people, learning new skills, and embracing the challenges that come with offshore cruising and long-distance passages.
I’m not looking for a vacation or simply a way to travel. I’m looking for experience, adventure, good people, and the opportunity to become a more capable sailor while building a meaningful life around the ocean.
