Looking for a Mile building, Novice Crew, Friendship or Competent Crew position
Hello! I'm Alex, a 56-year-old living in southern Spain near Gibraltar with my partner, Kate. We're looking to join a friendly, safety-conscious crew for mile building, offshore passages and, ideally, an Atlantic crossing during the winter season.
I hold the Spanish PER and Patrón de Yate sailing qualifications and have practical sailing experience in the Mediterranean, including passages between Ibiza, Formentera and Mallorca, a coastal voyage from Gibraltar to Alicante, a catamaran trip in Cuba and recent seamanship training in Sotogrande. My goal is to continue building offshore experience towards the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean qualification.
Kate is from the UK, an experienced business owner, an excellent cook and a qualified Dive Master and diving instructor. Together, we're easy-going, reliable, healthy, non-smokers and genuinely enjoy working as a team.
We're both happy to stand day and night watches and contribute with cooking, cleaning, provisioning, maintenance and whatever else helps the boat run smoothly. We understand that offshore sailing is built on trust, responsibility and teamwork.
We speak English and Spanish fluently (I also speak German), are financially independent, and look forward to meeting like-minded sailors and sharing great adventures at sea.
