hi! i'm Javier, 32, Costa Rican/German, native Spanish and fluent English and German. based in Gdańsk, Poland
i hold a Spanish PER license with sail endorsement and i'm looking to build serious offshore miles toward buying and skippering my own boat
my honest level: competent crew, not yet an offshore veteran. solid sailing fundamentals, comfortable on the helm and with sail handling, but limited night-watch and heavy-weather experience so far. i learn fast and i'd rather be straight about this than oversell it
what i bring: i'm very active: play padel and tennis, crossfit, wingfoil/kitesurf, so very comfortable in the water. handy with fixing things, calm under pressure, and easy to live with in a small space
i can share provisioning costs as is standard, and being based on the Baltic i can join boats in northern Europe on short notice since flights anywhere in Europe are easy for me
ideal trip: a southbound delivery or passage this Aug–Oct from the Baltic/North Sea toward Portugal, Gibraltar, the Med or Canaries (ARC feeder legs very welcome). one to three weeks. i'm looking for safety-first skippers who run proper watch systems; i'm happy to video call before committing, provide references, and would love to arrive a few days early to help with prep
