Competent Crew Available for Deliveries & Passages
I’m a capable, offshore-experienced sailor with approximately 3,000 nautical miles under my belt—more than 75% of which have been offshore passages. I’m actively seeking opportunities to crew on deliveries, offshore passages, coastal cruises, and extended voyages where safety, teamwork, and a positive attitude are valued. I bring real offshore experience, a strong work ethic, and a steady, easygoing presence on board, and I’m always eager to contribute wherever I’m needed while continuing to grow as a sailor.
One of my most memorable passages was helping deliver my family’s 38-foot Fontaine Pajot sailing catamaran from St. Vincent and the Grenadines to Port Aransas, Texas. That voyage included open-ocean sailing, watch rotations, navigation, changing weather systems, and the demands of living and working closely with crew over an extended period.
I have earned my American Sailing Association (ASA) 101, 103, and 104 certifications, giving me a solid foundation in sailing, coastal cruising, boat systems, safety, and seamanship. While I don’t consider myself a professional sailor, I am well beyond the novice stage and am comfortable taking direction, standing watch, handling lines, assisting with sail changes, docking, anchoring, and supporting all aspects of life aboard.
Professionally, I spent many years working as a real estate agent and property manager before transitioning into the roofing industry, where I currently own and operate my own roofing company. Because I run my own business, I have the flexibility to step away for extended passages without work conflicts. When I commit to a trip, I am fully present, reliable, and focused on the success of the voyage and the crew.
Outside of work, I’m a cowboy at heart. I’ve worked on cattle ranches and have always valued hard work, time outdoors, and taking pride in doing things properly. Those experiences shaped my sense of responsibility, dependability, and teamwork.
I’m easygoing, respectful, and comfortable living in close quarters with others. I believe a clean, organized boat improves life for everyone onboard, and I naturally keep things tidy and orderly. I’m always willing to help with cleaning, maintenance, provisioning, dishes, and any other daily tasks that keep the boat running smoothly.
I also enjoy cooking and am a reasonably experienced cook. I’m happy to prepare meals, assist with provisioning, or step in wherever needed to support the crew and make life aboard easier.
I’m a non-smoker, physically capable, dependable, and comfortable with long days and challenging conditions. I welcome constructive feedback and see every passage as an opportunity to improve my skills. I leave my ego on shore—I’m there to learn, contribute, and be a reliable part of the team.
Above all, sailing is a true passion of mine. I’m looking to build miles, gain experience, meet great people, and contribute to safe, efficient, and enjoyable passages.
If you’re an experienced skipper looking for a hardworking, positive, offshore-capable crew member who shows up prepared, pulls his weight, and fits well into a team environment, I’d love to hear from you—please don’t hesitate to reach out and connect about your next passage.
