Looking for a Mile building, Voluntary work, Friendship or Competent Crew position
I recently obtained my Category C and D recreational boat licences and I am now looking to gain as much real, hands-on experience on the water as possible.
I am looking for opportunities to join experienced skippers and crews as a skipper assistant / crew member, where I can actively contribute while learning and developing my practical boating skills.
I am particularly interested in gaining experience with boat handling, docking and manoeuvring, anchoring, navigation, passage planning, safety procedures, watchkeeping and everyday life on board.
I am responsible, reliable, calm, eager to learn and comfortable taking instructions. I understand that a licence is only the beginning and that becoming a competent skipper requires time on the water, practice and learning from people with real experience.
At this stage, my main goal is experience rather than income. I am therefore open to paid or unpaid opportunities, volunteering, and reasonable cost-sharing arrangements. I am happy to help with all aspects of life on board and I am not looking simply for a free trip — I genuinely want to participate, work, learn and become a better sailor.
I am open to day trips, weekend passages and longer trips, depending on the opportunity.
If you are an experienced skipper looking for a reliable extra pair of hands on board, I would be very happy to hear from you.
My goal is simple: more time on the water, more experience, and becoming a safe, confident and competent skipper.
