Looking for a Deckhand position
Hi - I've just joined Crew Bay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Deckhand/Skipper/Fishing Guide/watersports/lifeguard.
I’m Jayden, 18, and the ocean’s honestly been my whole world: grew up fishing and surfing in South Africa since the age of 8, spent 5 years working and competing as a lifeguard whilst at an All boys boarding school (Maritzburg College) where I achieved provincial colors and awards in open ocean kayaking and even participating in the ICF World Surf ski Championships in 2025.
I have just started picking up deckhand experience on yachts. I’d really love the opportunity to work on superyachts/boats as any form of ocean activity or boat is my passion and interest. Doing all watersports my whole life has given me strong knowledge, understanding and love for the ocean such as scuba diving, surfing, skiing, spearfishing and high-level water polo just to name a few. I did my Yacht masters and Day skipper courses where I spent 2 weeks skippering and performing crew duties on an L34 sailing vessel and am really motivated to further my qualifications and further my knowledge. I am an experienced Tender and chase boat skipper/captain with 2 years of surf launching and skippering experience. I have worked as a laborer with general handy man skills such as basic woodworking, welding and engine works.
I know I’m still young, but that makes me energetic, fun, hardworking, fast learning, and able to get on very well with people — happy to prove that on a trial shift or day work.
