French Sailor with Offshore Experience – Former Captain 200
I am a French sailor with solid offshore and professional sailing experience, looking for a serious position aboard a sailing yacht or catamaran.
I previously held a French Captain 200 qualification and have completed several Atlantic crossings and yacht deliveries.
I also worked as captain of a private 23-metre ketch on a year-round basis. My responsibilities included navigation, safety, maintenance of the vessel, daily operation of the yacht and welcoming international guests on board.
This experience gave me a good understanding of life at sea, responsibility, watchkeeping, boat handling, mooring, anchoring, maintenance and working with different people in an international environment.
I am practical, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility. I enjoy being part of a small crew and I am happy to take part in all aspects of life on board, including watches, deck work, maintenance, cooking and general daily duties.
I am particularly interested in offshore sailing, yacht deliveries, Atlantic crossings and long-distance cruising.
My Captain 200 qualification is not currently valid, as I have been away from professional sailing for several years, but I still have strong practical experience and I am willing to update any required certificates if necessary.
I speak French and can communicate in English. I am not fully fluent, but I have experience welcoming and dealing with foreign guests and I am comfortable communicating in an international environment.
I am mainly looking for paid positions as crew, deckhand, mate, delivery crew or similar roles.
I am available to travel worldwide and I am especially interested in the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Atlantic crossings, Caribbean and long-distance sailing projects.
