Looking for a Delivery Crew position
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. As a retired professional, I'm interested in finding a position as a Delivery Crew to complement my passion for boating.
I have over 30 years of boating experience and am specifically looking to get started doing yacht deliveries as a mate/crew member under an experienced captain.
My primary experience is with powerboats. I owned and operated a 41-foot Chris-Craft Commander for approximately 10 years. Before that, I spent years sailing, including smaller sailboats, catamarans, and a 30-foot O’Day that I skippered/timeshared for several years. I’ve also owned and operated smaller runabouts.
I don’t currently hold a professional captain’s license, and I’m not looking to step aboard as the captain. My goal is to contribute as a dependable, hands-on mate while building professional delivery experience and learning from experienced delivery captains.
I’m comfortable with long days aboard, watchstanding, navigation, docking, anchoring, general boat maintenance, and the responsibilities that come with operating a larger vessel. I’m also willing to obtain STCW Basic Training or any other certification you feel would make me a better candidate.
