Looking for a boat in south east Asia
Hello, we are Juliette and Youri, two 21-year-old French cyclists, and aspiring sailors. We departed from France in October 2025 with for destination New Zealand. We have stepped out the door with our bikes and a dream in mind: to discover the world and its mysteries by land and sea. Eager for wonderful encounters and human experiences, curious about all things and full of goodwill, we can’t wait to discover the unknown hidden around the corner. What brings us here is curiosity, our desire to meet people and share experiences, and to take part in projects that mean something to us. And, of course, to learn about the beautiful nature of this world and how to live in harmony with it. It’s been over a year since we left France; as we write these words, we are in China and at the doors of Vietnam. We are sharing this post in the hope of finding someone who would like to have us on board. We are able to travel anywhere in South-East Asia between November 2026 and July 2027 to meet you where fits best. We are heading south-east, whether that means the small Pacific islands, Australia, or even New Zealand, it all works for us. I (Youri) have some sailing experience: I spent some of my early childhood on my parents’ monohull of 37-foot, with my father, mother and two older brothers, sailing around the Mediterranean Sea for part of the year and being home schooled while sometimes we would return to France for my parents’ seasonal work. I also took part in a transatlantic in late 2024, on a 46-foot Lagoon catamaran, sailing from Les Sables-d’Olonne to Guadeloupe. I (Juliette) have no sailing experience but I am eager to learn and committed to helping out on the boat as much as possible. We’re ready to give our all on a daily basis and do our very best. We both speak very good English, good Spanish, and native French. Our bikes can be dismantled and packed to take up as little space as possible and avoid causing any damage; apart from that, we have few belongings. If you think we’d make good crewmates to share part of your journey, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you for reading this, and perhaps we’ll see you soon by the sea.
