Adventurous Couple Looking for an Atlantic Crossing – Nov/Dec 2026
Hey fellow sailors! ⛵
We're Jessie (25, from Germany) and Juan (28, from Colombia), a friendly, easy-going couple on a slightly crazy adventure: we're hitchhiking all the way from Jessie's home in Germany to Juan's home in Colombia — without flying!
We've been traveling together through Europe, North Africa and Asia, hitchhiking, volunteering, meeting wonderful people and working remotely along the way. Now we're hoping to make the biggest part of our journey happen: crossing the Atlantic by sailboat!
We're looking for a boat heading from the Canary Islands (or somewhere nearby) to the Caribbean or South America, ideally in November or December 2026. Colombia would be amazing, but anywhere in the Caribbean would be a dream come true. We're flexible with dates and destinations.
We don't have sailing experience yet, and we want to be upfront about that. But we're motivated, adaptable, hardworking and genuinely excited to learn!
Through our volunteering experiences around the world, we're used to sharing spaces, working as a team and helping wherever needed. We're happy to contribute with cooking, cleaning, provisioning, maintenance, physical work, night watches under guidance and everyday responsibilities on board. We also bring photography, videography and language skills (German, Spanish and English).
We're not looking to just sit back and enjoy a free ride. We want to be part of the crew, share responsibilities, learn about sailing and contribute as much as we can. We're open to reasonable shared expenses, too.
Most importantly, we're looking for kind, open-minded people to share this adventure with. We believe the people you meet along the way are what make a journey truly special.
