I am an experienced and hands-on Marine Engineer seeking a Third Engineer position,
with over ten years of experience across yacht engineering, vessel operations and
team management.
I am a proactive, resourceful and reliable engineer who takes pride in getting the job
done properly and maintaining high standards. I am adaptable and practical, and I
enjoy taking responsibility and finding effective solutions when faced with unexpected
or time-critical situations. Having worked closely with different departments and
teams throughout my career, I understand the importance of clear communication,
teamwork and maintaining a professional attitude onboard.
My engineering career has developed from a strong technical background. I began
my working life training and working as a car mechanic before moving into yachting. I
gained experience on larger motor yachts as a deckhand before progressing into
engineering roles on smaller sailing yachts. Over the past decade, I have continued to
build my practical engineering knowledge and have progressed to my current
position, where I am responsible for 24 charter yachts and a team of six.
My current role is highly hands-on and involves servicing, fault-finding and repairs
across engines, propulsion and a wide range of onboard systems. I am responsible for
planning and carrying out maintenance, diagnosing faults and responding to timecritical
call-outs, often working to tight deadlines. Managing a fleet of vessels has also
strengthened my organisational and leadership skills, while requiring me to prioritise
effectively and ensure that maintenance and operational requirements are dealt with
efficiently.
I am currently based between Corfu but and the North of England. I am bilingual in
English and Greek and hold both UK and Greek passports.
