I have worked in yachting for nearly two decades and logged more than 100,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic and South Pacific, Mediterranean, as well as up and down both coasts of USA, as captain and engineer throughout my career. In practice that means diagnosing and troubleshooting unfamiliar systems, sourcing parts or manufacturer specialists, and at times re-engineering proprietary systems as custom solutions. Besides driving a boat, I have taken part in the commissioning and sea trials of a new-build performance catamaran alongside the builder’s technical team, and led an eight month refit of a 26m motor yacht as owner’s representative, among others. Owner references describe calm leadership, close attention to detail on technical work, and the ability to fix or adjust the program when something fails mid-trip. Along with any capabilities and accolades for myself, what I strive for the most is an engaging and fulfilling work environment, where leadership is not only calm command, but filled with respect and trust and empowerment. I am American with permanent Spanish residency.
My wife is a Chief Stewardess and Personal Assistant with a background in high-end retail and several years on yachts. She speaks Italian, Spanish and English fluently. She has run full interior departments on her own, covering service, provisioning, guest care and owner support across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Pacific. She has also worked as combined stew and deck, handling docking, anchoring, watch duties and tender operations, so she is comfortable assisting the captain on deck. Her owner references highlight her work ethic, discretion and consistently high standard of service. Martina is Italian with B1B2 visa.
