Competent crew/Yacht master available
Hi, I'm looking for crewing positions on sailing boats. I am a previous boat owner for 20 yrs and probably double that in terms of experience, started with dinghies and progressed on to instructing on cruising yachts in Scotland with youth groups from my locality. I have sailed extensively in UK/Irish waters often single handed. In addition to my UK sailing experience I have completed 4 Atlantic crossings 3 East to West and 1 West to East. I have sailed the Canaries/Cape Verde/West Africa (Gambia)/French Guyana/Caribbean/Azores. In summer of 2024 I sailed from the West coast of the USA North to Alaska spending 3 months cruising PWS and the East coast of Alaska. I sailed the Gulf of Alaska again in 2025 (curtailed due to weather and mechanical failures). I now have the opportunity to have some extended time sailing and I am looking for crewing positions in any part of the world, with good company and perhaps the occasional glass of vino at the end of a sail. Happy with all tasks relating to the boat but better in the galley than the engine room. I take a fairly relaxed approach to most things with a typical northern (UK) sense of humour. If you think I may fit then I would be happy to expand on my experience to date.
