Hi! I’m Dan Longhi
A long time ago I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in biology. Then I spent 22 years working in a laboratory for a pharmaceutical company. I also do woodworking, building furniture and cabinets.
I have been retired for about 6 years. I am in excellent health. Strong and fearless. In February, 2019 I had an opportunity to sail on a Broadblue 42 catamaran. I sailed with the owner from Grenada to St. Martin from the middle of February till middle of April. During that time the owner asked me if I wanted to join the World Cruising Club ARC Rally Europe from Tortola, British Virgin Islands to Lagos, Portugal.
I departed with the catamaran from Tortola on May 4. By the time we arrived in Bermuda the catamaran had been rendered unseaworthy and would not be leaving Bermuda with the rest of the group. I was invited to join a different boat – a Duffour 455, run by a Danish group. We sailed from Bermuda to the Azores. Spent 10 days and visited four islands there. Arrived in Lagos, Portugal on 14 June. During that voyage I participated in all sailing activities – sail trimming, watches, steering, cooking.
