Hey Gang! We're looking for +40ft S/Y heading to the Caribbean in first 2 weeks of November
My girlfriend and I have worked as a Captain/Chef team in the charter industry for the last 4 years in the BVI, prior to this we began on super yachts in the Med for an additional 2 years. After completing our last season in the BVI after Irma struck, we purchased our hurricane damaged boat with the view to refit and live/work from her. We have spent the last year in Grenada carrying out an extensive refit on the majority of the boat, with the view to return very soon and make our way back to the BVI for another season. I am a commercially endorsed YM Offshore from the UK and am planning to undertake my oral examination for YM ocean this December, using the crossing as my passage to take my sights. I have the relevant books and a sextant to bring on the trip to practise and carry out sightings. Lucy is qualified up to Day Skipper on top of her 4 years experience in the BVI, plus the miles covered on our personal boat up and down the Caribbean (BVI-Grenada), comprising of solo day/night watches as there has only been the two of us onboard so far. She obtained her chef diploma after studies at Gastronomicom, a culinary academy in SOF after which she undertook 6 months further training under a 2* Michelin chef.
We are both very relaxed people, enjoy some great banter and jokes, but also love getting stuck in with all and any jobs onboard. We see this as an opportunity to broaden our knowledge, aiding us in gaining future delivery positions, and to have time to meet an awesome group of new friends to share our experiences, stories, and humour with.
