Looking to get out on the water, sailing, snorkeling, fresh air.
I am 61 years old, retired, good physical shape, and I love the sea. I am not an experienced sailor, most of my boating experience has been on power boats, but I have sailed with friends from Miami to Bimini several times and to the Dry Tortugas from Key West twice. I am an excellent swimmer and love to snorkel, also NAUI certified. I am very handy, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, some mechanical, but not my strong point.
My wife is 47 years old, French (has a green card), retired, in good physical shape, and a great cook! She was always my first mate when we owned a power boat, but has little crewing experience on a sailboat. She is a good swimmer/snorkeler and also enjoys the sea.
We are both non smokers and light drinkers, and easy going. We are both being very careful (not crazy, just reasonably careful) due to coronavirus, but feel getting away on boat would be safe. I would need to discuss this with any potential captain. Due to this we would feel most comfortable on a round trip cruise, such as Bahamas/Caribbean, or sailing the Florida Keys or anywhere we could rent car and drive back, but not ready to get on a flight yet.
We are financially independent and would pay our own expenses and could help with the expenses of the journey.
