Looking for a Competent Crew, 1st Mate, Captain or Deckhand position
Hi. I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew, 1st Mate, Captain or Deckhand. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people and taking on a new adventure!
I am a sailor with blue water experience and a visual artist by trade. My home is near Fraser Island, Queensland, Australia.
I have sailed 1200nm across the wild Tasman sea to New Zealand as first mate aboard a 50ft catamaran. I have crewed aboard traditional sailing tall ships such as the topsail schooner 'Enterprize' (Melbourne's flag ship) also the Australian tall ship 'ATS12' as 1st mate. I have owned and lived aboard my own cruising yacht, 'Jahja' a 30ft gaff rigged cutter from 2003 - 2016.
During the season of 2019, I was crew aboard a Beneteau 473 in the Greek Cyclades, where I also filmed and produced a promotional sailing video for the owner of the vessel.
2021 I was Captain/1st Mate on a 60ft Outremer catamaran in North Queensland, sailing from Whitsunday region, north and east to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.
More recently in 2022 I worked aboard a 104ft sailing sloop Superyacht as Engineer. We sailed from Southport, Gold Coast to Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays where we spent a couple of months exploring the many islands.
In addition to my love of sailing and the great outdoors, I have a passion for travel, history and culture. I photograph, film, paint and draw as much as time will allow. My partner and I have built an eco friendly Bed and Breakfast in the natural bushland of our rural property. We have gained the status of 'superhost' through consistently excellent reviews on the booking agency AirBnB. We pride ourselves of not only being environmentally aware and conscientious but also for offering a pleasant, friendly and hospitable stay to all our guests be they family, friends or soon to be friends. This approach is one which we like to take with us everywhere we go and especially onboard a vessel.

Leroy & Mel
Leroy and Mel are great. They joined us earlier in the summer for a trip around the Cyclades and were fun to sail with and very knowledgable.
