Hola Capitanes! Sailing Mexico!
Greetings Seafarers!
I introduce myself: my name is Giulio and I am a 35 years old Italian guy, looking forward to meet like-minded sailors/captains willing of sharing the great adventure of sailing the Caribbean.
Currently in Dominican Republic, after crossing the Atlantic (ARC 2023) and available now for a sailing positions based around Mexico.
I am an easy going/open minded companion, with a friendly and positive attitude, but I am also a reliable and attentive sailor who is keen about safety and like to share and participate in each aspect of navigation and make onboard life a nice and enjoyable adventure.
I like good food and that's why I love cooking and I can prepare tasty meals even when sea conditions aren't quiet: seasickness doesn't affect me.
I enjoy being dipped in the ocean environment and I like sea related activities such as fishing, canoeing/kayaking, free and scuba diving (I am a certified SSI Open Water Diver).
I like to be sailing as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible: I have big respect for the elements and our planet, I feel connected to nature and all the beings living in it.
I started sailing in 2017, at first just completing some small day trips... in 2019 I commenced and completed specific training and obtained the Italian Offshore sailing licence and embarked for my first offshore passage..
From charters to milebuilding, passing through seasonal cruising, and deliveries I have so far accumulated some sailing experience, mainly volunteering/working on recreational sailing vessels.
I have gained skills in helming, night watches, sails rigging, reefing and trimming, mooring, anchoring, VHF communications, dead reckoning, plotting, gps navigation, dinghy driving, basic splicing, and boat sitting/cleaning/provisioning.
The plan after dropping out from my working routine is to travel the 7 seas as much as I can, seeing far away countries, meeting new people/cultures, sharing onboard life and feel that freedom that only sailing can bestow you with.. in this regard I have no time limits and I am flexible with dates and itinerary.
