Transatlantic North crossing adventure (France-Canada)
Hello everyone,
We are Paula and Léo from Spain and France.
I am Paula, a 25 years old biologist that studied marine biology in Madrid and France, and I've worked with sea turtles in different places. I like to do snorkeling, to practice circus, all kind of mountain activities (climbing and walking) as well as to meet people and share moments. I have good communication skills and like to learn new abilities.
I am Léo, a 26 years old climatologist who recently obtained his PhD degree about the snowfall in the Arctic. I mainly used remote sensing data and would like to get a closer look to those northern countries, in addition to my two academic trips in Svalbard. I am passionate about the environment and practice a lot of related sports (climbing, snowboarding...). I am looking forward to learn more about life and duties onboard, and I think that my climate and meteorological knowledges will find another application on the sea.
We speak french, spanish, english, and italian. We are autonomous people who can cook, clean and contribute to daily tasks. Also, we will be glad to learn everything that you can teach us about navigation.
We are a funny couple that would like to travel to Greenland and Canada by boat.
We read online that there is a route that cross the Atlantic to the North with the following stops: England, Feroe Island, Iceland, Greenland and Canada.
Ideally, we would like to leave in march from France (Brest, Le Havre or another depending on you). We are temporally and spatially available, and not in a hurry to cross the Atlantic.
If possible, we would enjoy few days at each stop of the trip to visit the surroundings.
Anyway, we also know that this months of the year are not the easiest to cross over the North, so we are open to change the destination, arriving to center or south America.
We are at ease on a boat altough we do not have a lot of knowledge about sailorship.
As such, the plan we propose might be a bit off compared to what is usually done. Please, do not hesitate to suggest any modifications and propose your trip.
We are looking for someone who wants to make the same kind of trip, to share new experiences and discover new beautiful places.
