Looking for a Competent/Delivery Crew, 1st Mate, Deckhand, Navigator or Cook position
We are a team of two: Ivy and Martin and we live in Singapore and we are at time available as a team and at other times individually.
We are both well traveled and have lived overseas for extended periods of time. We love traveling off the beaten path and have been exploring quite a bit of Asia by sea and on our mountain bikes. We are fit and energetic and enjoy meeting new people and making friends.
We both had a chance to do extensive sailing on monohulls and catamarans over the last 10 years. We know how to live and behave on a boat with limited resources and we are easy to get along with. We are familiar with all crewing positions and are happy to work the galley and help out with technology (IT and electronics) and diesel / Outboard problems. Martin usually travels with his chartplotter and is happy to assist with Navigation. He has a great library of cruiser sailing notes, cruising guides as well as routes, waypoints and anchorage gpx files for Asia that he is happy to share. We have both completed our competent crew (2012) and day skipper (2013) courses with Keppel Bay Sailing Academy and have been sailing as crew and co-skippers on chartered catamarans (45/50 ft) in Croatia, Thailand and French Polynesia. We also had a chance to visit several remote islands in Palawan, Philippines over a 10 day period on a 52 ft sloop and sail around Phuket and the Similan Islands on a 51 ft Beneteau sloop. We have done a number of small passages from Tioman to Singapore, Langkawi to Pangkor and from Penang to Miri so we are used to managing over-night sails and watches.
We have done 4 deliveries both on monos and cats and have helped others with the inital familiarization of their boat. We commute between Singapore and Penang and are often in the Straits Quay Marina.
Altogether we have now recorded close to 10,000 NM and are looking back on some fantastic sailing adventures.
We are hoping to find some a nice skipper/owner or cruising couple who would like to have company of an easy going, open minded and well coordinated team for a few weeks on a leg of their cruise around Asia Pacific.
We are both non-smokers, Martin enjoys cooking and is handy with mechanical boat problems and can do basic maintenance on diesel and outboard engines. I will support him in the galley manage the provisioning and keep everyone smiling and happy on the boat :-). We both movie buffs and we love traveling, exploring new and exciting places and having fun in general.
We both enjoy diving and both have PADI certificates.
We have both given up the rat race but we have some project and family commitments so need a bit of notice for any sailing adventures. But we are keen find a bunk whenever there is an opportunity to sail. We don't expect to be paid and will be happy to contribute to costs.

If you are sailing through Penang, Singapore or JB we would be happy to host you and show you around if we are in town. If you need help with provisioning, we have a car and we can also keep any spares for you at our address in case you need anything shipped. We'll be very happy to meet any sailors that come to our shores even just for some beers or a good coffee from our Italian Espresso Machine.
