Looking for a Novice Crew, Voluntary work, Mile building or Delivery Crew position
Former 25+ year emergency services veteran having a break from lights & sirens, prior to a significant change of lifestyle/career. I'm easy going and willing to travel to find sailing crew opportunities.
Experienced medical first responder and hold qualifications in that field, plus other areas such as navigation, weather, etc.
Would prefer unpaid positions; but would consider paid delivery type jobs if the opportunity arose.
A little about myself, my interests and my plans:
confident swimmer, rarely/unlikely seasick, good listener, good communicator, no body piercings, no facial piercings, no tattoos at all, travel light (little luggage), respectful, clean & tidy, committed, eager to learn & work, fit & healthy, friendly, polite, LGBTIQ accepting, diligent, positive outlook, skilled, organised, discreet, trustworthy, open minded, enthusiastic, easy going, sense of humor, can pay own expenses, available on my own, enjoy cooking, don't mind cleaning, good with maintenance, can follow orders, enjoy teaching, buy my own boat one day, learn a language
Healthy and active 44 year old straight male; but also have numerous LGBTIQ friends. Left-leaning, non-judgmental and love learning about other cultures and lifestyles. Non-smoker and only drink socially. I enjoy cooking and willing to learn more in that area. I'm tidy, organised and travel relatively lightly. I like camping and hiking. I've travelled quite a bit via motorcycle in the past few years and happy to rough it when the need arises.
I grew up sailing dinghy's and obtained AYF certificates in the 1990's at advanced level. Continued sailing in early 2000's, but have very limited yachting experience. Looking to build sailing experience prior to purchasing my own 40'+ yacht in the next 12 months.
