Looking for a Novice Crew position or Friendship
Hi . I'm interested in finding a way to give the sailing/cruising thing a try to see if it's for me. I think I'd really enjoy it, but I don't know for sure until I try it out. I'd rather not buy a boat until I have a better idea of what the "life" is actually about. Active, very fit, adventurous, flexible schedule, no family or financial constraints to get in the way. I've taken an ASA sailing class and I really enjoyed it, but I don't have any experience at all. I can pull my own weight physically, financially, etc..., and I can take instruction without any ego issues. I'm open to just about anything, but I think I'd like to start out with just getting on a boat for a week or a few weeks to see how things work out and then see where things go. I'm in Texas so I guess the Caribbean might fit pretty well, but I don't mind flying in to get to a boat. As I say, I open to many things as long as the equipment is sound and the Capt. is knowledgeable and experienced. I don't want this to sound wrong, but I don't have much interest in sitting around marinas--I want to sail and do interesting stuff. Let me know if this works for you.
