Looking for a Novice Crew position or Friendship
Hi . Active 54 year old, single, very fit, adventurous, flexible schedule, no family or financial constraints to get in the way. I've taken an ASA sailing class as well as picking up knowledge under sail. I've been fortunate enough to do some coastal sailing and a bit of open water sailing, and a few short (4 day) passages and overnight sailing. I've owned boats all my life as I'm an avid saltwater fisherman so boating and coastal navigation are nothing new. I will probably purchase a boat at some point, but I just don't know what I want right now. I can pull my own weight physically, financially, watches, helm, boat duties, etc..., I can take instruction without any ego issues and am fair in the galley. I'm open to just about anything, short hops, deliveries, island hopping--it really makes no difference to me. I'm in Texas so I guess the Caribbean or Bahamas might fit pretty well, but I don't mind flying in to get to a boat anywhere in the world for the right opportunity. As I say, I'm open to many things as long as the boat and the Capt. are sound. I don't want this to sound wrong, but I don't have much interest in sitting around marinas--I want to sail and do interesting stuff without hassle, politics or drama.
