Fantastic crew with excellent judgement

Dean and I planned on delivering my Beneteau from France to Spain. However, due to Dean's excellent grasp of weather analysis, we decided against the journey, which would have been an unpleasant slog. Instead, we spent a few days sailing around France, practicing drills and boat handling. At all times, Dean was enthusiastic, energetic and exhibited excellent judgement about sailing and safety. He was both able to and willing to voice opinions, even when they contradicted mine (the skipper), which is a sign of an great crew member of any position. He was also perfectly willing to listen to and incorporate new information even in very active situations. Dean also takes the initiative to take care of things around the boat, and has unflagging energy. I would have absolutely no hesitation about sailing with Dean in the future.

Outstanding Crew!

Dean was an outstanding crew member on our 1000+ Nm 7-day offshore passage from Saint Thomas, USVI to Colon, Panama in July 2021. Dean was a competent and skilled sailor and when there was a job to be done Dean was quick to volunteer with a smile and without complaint. On this trip we saw winds up to 40kts with a sea-state over 12ft on a particularly challenging boat. I was honestly impressed with Dean’s attitude and ability to keep his cool even when it was rough. I now consider him a friend that I would go to sea with any time.

Excellent, Energetic and Mature Sailor!

Dean, along with another CrewBay member assisted me in moving my sail catamaran from the Exumas to the US Virgin Islands. Dean is a very mature, intelligent and responsible sailor and would make an excellent crew member for your passage. I will definitely invite Dean back again as not only was he a tremendous help, we had a lot of fun exploring the Island(s) on our trip!
