Looking for Novice Crew position, unpaid or paid - 15. March Canary Islands about 21.3. Carribean & Panama
Hi - I've just joined CrewBay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Novice Crew. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people! I usually live on La Palma, Canary Islands.
I would like to live o a boat and escape the Corona crazyness for a while. I feel the sea could be worth a try. I founded the facebook group "living on a boat in corona times - escaping the madness".
I have nearly no experience but this is serious! I study a lot and I am only amongst sailors since a few months in Horta/Azores - living on rented boats, alone. Now looking for sailing opportunities in Horta, but still weather is difficult.
I plan to go back to La Palma in midst of march and then in after 21st I am free to go to Panama/Carribean or to find a boat on the Canaries to cross the Atlantic or another interesting plan. I would also fly to Panama/ Carribean.
I have this dream since 2 years. I lived at the Marina of Tazacorte for 3 years and fell deeply in love with the sea and the idea of sailing - I have the serious wish to own a boat one day and to live on it for a while. Maybe a year or two. And to go to the pacific.
I have a very strong will and not really a "romantic" idea of being on the sea. I know, it maybe very rough. I would love to overcome my seasickness step by step.
I have nearly zero sailing experience as I have only spent 2 days at sea near La Palma.
I feel, then I could be free to go to some "forgotten" harbors in the south pacific .. I am working on an exciting scientific project with a colleague in the background and I have some basic means to maintain myself which I could spend on the expenses .
I love to clean, to learn, to be busy, to work - I have limited strength, but I feel that would grow. I loove wind, the elements, I love storm (on land! ) since childhood my favourite weather - always gave me strength. I like challenges. I feel, I have a good basis for overcoming the obstacles, because there is a VERY big passion for the sea and the sense of independence as well as enough reasons to escape of the continents for a while ... due to the "crisis".
I am willing to work, to have irregular sleep, unexpected situations and the like. I am often a nights person, could help a lot with night watches.
Of couse I love chilling in beautiful harbors, enjoying endlessly beautiful views, I love everything that is beautiful, I love good food, ambience and and and ..
