I am looking for a captain's position on a sailing yacht in the 20-25m range to commit to for a few years.
IObjective:
I am seeking a long term captain’s position on a sailing yacht 20m-30m. Perhaps with new private owners wishing to explore in the coming years and possibly develop some chartering. I am looking to commit for a few years to the right owners and right boat and to go wherever they want it to go. I plan to advance my certification from Offshore to Ocean at the earliest opportunity.
Experience:
My first Atlantic crossing was in 1976 at the age of 8 and I grew up on and around boats and the sea. I lived in St. Maarten/St. Martin for over 23 years and an overview of relevant experience acquired during that time can be found further in this CV.
I moved to Mallorca in 2010 and I have worked freelance under the name Skeleton Crew Services, In the Summer I have been skippering for day and short term charter companies and private clients, in the Winter my work is usually deliveries, yard work and maintenance. I have worked on over 50 yachts of all sizes, giving me extensive knowledge and experience with yacht care, maintenance and repairs.
Just as you are looking for the ‘right captain’ for your yacht, I too am looking for the ‘right owners’ to work for. I am looking to develop a good strong long term relationship that helps you enjoy your yacht as much as possible, to take it wherever you want it to go and to make sure it and everyone who steps on board is well taken care of.
