Crew looking for short trips around the UK based in Stirling
Hello,
My name is Erin, I’m 21 and I'm from the North of Scotland. I have just come back from a year and a half long journey where I sailed from Spain to Colombia and then cycled down the west coast of south America. I am currently based in Stirling but would like to continue sailing whenever I can, so if you need crew on shortish trips around the UK and want an extra crew let me know!
About me:
I am an enthusiastic person, I value having fun, I love doing new things and spending time with people, although I also like having time by myself. I like doing outdoor activities like climbing, hiking, cycling, kayaking and sailing of course. I know that the outdoors has its own will and I am comfortable when things don't happen the way we want them to.
Relevant skills:
Sailing experience: I still have lots to learn, but in 2022, I sailed from North Spain to Colombia, passing through multiple islands in the Canneries and the Caribbean on the way, and so learnt a lot during those passages. So far I have loved all the different parts of sailing including swimming down to untangle the propeller from a lobster pot, being on a boat that group of orcas attacked/decided to play with, quickly changing foresails (we didn't have roller furling) during squalls in the Caribbean, and all the usual sailing jobs. I am happy to do night watches and I don't get seasick. I would say my knowledge of sailing is intermediate and I am very motivated to improve it.
Cooking: I like to cook, during the east to west transatlantic passage I did most of the cooking and am happy to work in the galley.
Childcare: If you have children, I have experience as an outdoor activity leader for children aged 7-10, teaching them climbing, swimming and orienteering, and I am happy to entertain your children.
Fair winds to all!
Erin
Great team player
If there were more Erin's in the world then it would be a better place and sailing would be more fun. Excellent cook good sailor and all round nice person. 3 weeks crossing the Atlantic, never missed a watch, works confidently on the fore deck and in the cockpit
