Looking for a Captain position
I have 10 years yachting experience (120 000 NM, with 6 Atlantic, 3 pacific, 1 Indian Ocean crossings and also 1 complete circumnavigation, more than 50 weeks of high end charters) with an RYA Yacht Master Offshore sail (commercially endorsed), all MCA OOW <3000 GT modules (Nav and Radar, GSK, HELM O, GMDSS GOC, PSCRB, ECDIS, about to do my oral exam), AEC (approved engine course) and PADI Dive Instructor qualification, as well as all other relevant certificates such as Eng1 and STCW10, VPDSD, PB2, ICC, etc..
Extensive sailing, diving and chartering in the Med, Caribbean, Central-America, South Pacific, French Polynesia, Indonesia, Seychelles.
I am seeking an appropriate position on a S/Y (preferably) or M/Y as: Captain, Chase boat captain, First Mate.
My career objective is to step up as captain on a 50ft - 85ft sail yacht. I have a partner who is an accomplished 2nd stewardess and is currently doing a high end chef course, we aim to run the boat together. This is the job that I am currently looking for.
I possess excellent verbal and written skills, know excel and accounting (ran the deck order books for 4 years).
My specialties are sailing, rigging, varnish and woodwork, splicing, epoxy and fiberglass work. Due to my experience being on superyachts and my keen interest in the subject, my work and repairs are always up to a high cosmetic standard. Also tender driving, guest interactions and team management. Extensive knowledge of all LSA equipment that yachts carry, safety drills, SMS, ISM, CSWP, experience with on the fly repairs, full installations, engine services, mechanical, AC units, refrigeration, Heads, pumps, electrics, haul outs, yard work
I have been trained in coding of vessels, flag state surveys.
I love being on the water and below. Have spent 3 years diving almost every spot in French Polynesia, the society islands, tuomotus and Marqueses on S/Y Hemisphere (5 star dive center as well as the largest sailing Catamaran in the world).
Sailing around the world was a lifelong dream of mine and I can't wait to do it all again and show you all the amazing spots I have seen and experienced.
I enjoy underwater Photography and videography, wakeboarding, kiteboarding and backgammon.
I am enthusiastic and have the drive and ambition best suited to a busy environment.
I display good accuracy and strong attention to detail, am pro-active and flexible with a good sense of
humour. I also don't get sea sick.
I am currently awaiting my NOE to sit my oral exam for my OOW <3000 GT.
