Looking for a sailing adventure departing from Grenada
Hi all,
After New Years I will be be in Grenada looking for a boat going either north, the abc islands or to the mainland.
I arrived in St Lucia after crossing the Atlantic. Now I am looking for an adventure in the carribean to join! In the last years I've been sailing quite a bit around New Zealand and the Med and I'm really looking forward to get out there again and meet fellow cruisers. I am happy to contribute in watchkeeping, cooking, cleaning, maintenance and to the running costs.
Not planning anything has worked out really well so far, so all my options are open after probably January. The vessel I’ll be crewing on sails to Grenada. Once arrived there I've got seas of time (as a Dutch saying goes), and all I want is to learn more about sailing and go on an adventure. How, where to, when or on what kind of boat, as long as it sails, are of little importance to me.
A little sneakpreview about me:
I am an easy going person with a wide range of interests. I love reading, tinkering, hiking, cooking, having good conversations, with an occasional glass of wine ;) and I have a great love for music. I can be quite energetic but I do like my downtime as well.
Since the age of 12 I've sailed and windsurfed occasionally. We did it once a year and I always very much enjoyed it. During my studies I joined the student sailing association where I really started learning how to sail. I've sailed lasers up to Skutsjes (big old Frysian transporting ships) and I figured out that I felt best when I was on the water. Winning my first race on a boat in a team of 14 was an amazing experience. But by trying all kinds of boats the main thing I learned was that becoming a good sailor means investing lots and lots of time.
Besides becoming a better sailor, spending time with people from everywhere around the world has brought me so much. Getting to know people from all walks of life ceases to inspire and amaze me again every time.
So if you are around the European/Dutch waters after September, please contact me! Even if its just for a day trip I am more than happy to join and help out!

Atlantic crossing
Martine was crew on my Atlantic crossing from canaries to Caribbean and I can definitely recommend her as a crew. She is very experienced in terms of sailing and boat handling, her meals are delicious and she's always eager to help - A master of all crew trades.
