Hi, from Brazil. I am Amaro, a 52 years old man and I have a dream: join me in an adventure around the word in a sailboat. Last year I bought a hobiecat 14 and started sailing in the middle of the Amazon jungle, in a city called Santarém. I fell in love for sailing and I really want this for my life. I asked for a license for my job (three years without working) to discover if the sea wants me or not. I want the sea for my life and I hope the sea wants me too. If the sea wants me, I am going to stop working and I am going to be in the sea for a long time.
Maybe someday I am going to have my own sailboat, why not? But the most important is to have experience and I just have a small experience with my hobiecat 14 and this is almost nothing because I don't have any experience in the sea. I am looking for experience and, trust me, I am going to give my best to help my captain to sail around the world. I will try, everyday, to learn as much as possible about sailing because I want to help my team to sail around the world.
By the way, I love spearfishing and I am snorkeling and spearfishing since I was 15 years old. I love eating fish and, I am sure, I am going to contribute catching fish for my team (I hope my team like eating fish as I do). My native language is portuguese, but I speak English, Spanish and a little bit French. Please, give me the opportunity to show you my skils. I hope I can make part of your team.
A little about myself, my interests and my plans
Well, I am a professor and a teacher almost all my life and I like teaching and learning. I started teaching when I was 15 years old and now a do the same thing. I was a swimmer and a swimming teacher. At university I teach in physical education area, I teach swimming, volleyball and internship classes. At school I teach Portuguese and English classes and I also teach Portuguese and English literature. I love reading and talking about the books that I read. I like to relax playing my guitar (I play a little bit). I like doing sports: I play volleyball, tennis and table tennis. I also play BIRIBOL (volleybal played in the swimming pool).
I like learning languages and I would like to learn two or three languages more. Nowadays I want to be a better person sharing some learning that I learnt in my life and learning with people who want to each me. I think life is to be lived without complaining about problems but trying to find the solutions for the problems that is going to happen sometimes. I want to become a better person learning about a simple life, learning about how to be better everyday and if I need to change my mind, no problem, I am prepared for everything that life can give me. I am not a teenager anymore, I can't lose my time complaining about things that I didn't understand, I will try to understand because, In my opinion, we need, always, to change our minds when necessary.
I know the life in the sea is going to be a challenge for me. I know that now I don't have the necessary skills to sail solo on a sailboat and I know that I need help to learn about this new subject for me. I need help, I need your help. let me join your team and I promisse that I will do my best to help you in your sailboat.
My motivation and reasons to crew on a boat
well, when I was younger I have some dreams but life wasn't easy in my family, I had a humble family. So, I needed to forget my dreams to help my family to survive by that time. nowadays life is not so difficult to me and I want one of my dreams become reality: to know some parts of the world. Ten years ago I started working hard for this dream come true and after ten years I have the possibility to transform my dream in reality. This dream started in my mind when I was about fifteen years old, a long time ago. I didn't imagine to do that sailing but last year I bought a small sailboat and I fell in love for sailing and now I want to know some parts of the world on a sailboat. In my journey I am looking for culture, I want to learn about new cultures that I am going to see. I am looking for, also, to know about me, to find myself, to know who I am, because after months sailing around the world I think I am going to change my mind about the peoples, about the new cultures, about food, about life.
I don't want anymore to live a life paying debts all the months, working, working and passing for the life and not living the life. I decided not to be rich but to be happy. I am tired of this kind of life that I live. I don't want to have interests friends anymore. I want friends that like me for what I am, not for what I have.
