Friendly English girl looking for experience!
Hi there, I'm at the very beginning of hopefully a life long lifestyle of cruising around this beautiful planet.
I am 25, originally from Southampton and looking for a new experience. I spent 2 years working my way around Australia, I was lucky enough to go on a few boat trips and it was then I realized I would love to have any career that isn't the normal 9-5.
I have been on lots of boats in the passed, more as a passenger/customer but I would love to learn how to sail. my previous jobs have been in hospitality, from resorts - bars - clubs - cafes. I also worked 2+ painful years in a office. All of my jobs have been customer focused but a bit of everything.
my hobbies are interests
its my dream to travel the world (eventually) my perfect place would be a island in the sun with no one else around. I love national parks, nature, cute small towns.
I also really enjoy cooking, and have had a few light cooking jobs (mostly for hungry farmers in Australia) I have done plenty of house keeping roles...Im hoping all my experience makes me the perfect crew member!
other interests: photography, scuba diving (advanced padi), hairdressing and keeping fit and eating moderately healthy.
at this moment, I don't have any 'sea miles' so an ideal position for myself would be as a hostess/amateur crew member. but I am a quick learner, and willing to take the RYA / STCW course for more experience if it was a paid position. To begin with im looking for an experience to see if im really going to like sailing, but im pretty sure i will.
(without sounding too picky) I would prefer boats with other crew members (2+)... but anywhere around the world, be that the Solent or med.
if you want to chat or see my resume, please send me a message. also can get references if needed!
I am currently looking for a paid or unpaid position on any boat (sailing boat would be great as I would love to learn) i am also now working at Red Funnel (the ferry company that serves the Isle of Wight to Southampton), however in the head office Working in customer service/admin and events.
In my eyes, to be able to travel and eventually make an income whilst doing so would be an absolute dream and cannot understand why no one I know seems to be doing this already.
If you have any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. And of-course I hope to hear from a future employer who’s willing to give me a chance :)
