I'm very easy going and low maintenance. Never been sea sick. Enjoy cooking at 20° heeling and don't mind grueling rotations, sailing short handed or in adverse condition. All whilst respecting and adhering to safety, on top and below decks.

I have a can-do attitude, I am mechanically and technically inclined, enjoying all tasks and challenges of sailing. And I can contribute to all aspects of running the yacht, navigation and passage planning. Having crewed on over 12 yachts, with a multitude of crews from all walks of life, of various origins and faiths, I’m confident that I can fit in almost any constellation of people, and also retreat and pass time in solitude when needed.

I carry my own safety gear, sleep system, satellite communicator & PLB, handheld
VHF w. DSC/GPS/MOB, navionics charts and dedicated plotter tablet.

I also carry SAR specialized, Global Medical & Personal Liability insurances.

Simon and I were delivery crew together on a boat of three crossing the Bay of Biscay in February. I always felt very safe with simon on watch. He has lots of equipment and knows how to use it. He always played very good music, cooked for everyone very well and was in good mood - even when the Biskay was very rough he went down to check the bilges regularly which I consider exceptional effort. He is studying (feb 2024) for the RYA YM Offshore and has according equipment and knowledge on navigation. Also He understands to set up the plotter and boat electronics that you can connect to.

I can’t recommend sailing with Simon enough. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable, super professional, diligent, a great cook, takes initiative and fit right in with the crew. As two sailors with two young kids crossing from mainland Spain to the Canaries (5-6 days) having Simon on board made a big difference in terms of confidence and lowering our stress levels. We would love to sail with Simon again. Very happy to provide a further reference if needed.

Offshore grade skipper - Raising the bar in the gally.

With Ismail, we believed we could make good food, but in gally Simon made fun of us ? in a friendly way! It was hard to say if we are a crew or charter guests! There's no doubt you can trust his navigation and watchkeeping abilities during offshore passages. He's really easygoing, and I'm definitely excited to sail with Simon again.

Simon is a really nice and uncomplicated person. He is just starting his sailing career but he had already learned a lot. He can do all the Crew work and also do night watches on his on. It's not a failure to take him aboard.
