June.-July 2024: Competent crew for Greece
Hi,
My name is Nathalie, I am a teacher, and I will be arriving in Crete Greece on June 15, 2024, for a month. I wish to join a safe boat with an experienced skipper and a fun crew to live a memorable journey on the water. Skipper has to be easy going, calm and in control.
I had a sailboat on Lake Champlain NY for 4 years, but not sailed much on salt water, maybe 2 weeks of saltwater under my belt. I am autodidact person and learned sailing on my sailboat, with a book for the theory and my boat to practice. So I made mistakes... and learned the hard way! I can be a good crew member. I used to maintain my sailboat by myself, so not afraid to help repair or clean. I am an easy going person, take good care of other’s boat, easy to live with, without mood swings. I speak French but also English. Non smoker, no special diet, enjoy having a drink once securely anchored, eat almost everything. I am a good cook for salads, fish and pasta. Love fishing, snorkling, canoying, hiking.
So basically If living aboard together is easy and you are planning longer passages I will be very interested. In my bucket list, I wish to cross an ocean, Windward, Whitsunday Islands, San Blas Islands, Bahamas, French Polynesia, Svalbar, Iceland, Greenland...
As a teacher, I am in vacation 11 weeks/year: 2 during Christmas Holliday and 9 weeks from mid June to end of August. Also, I am six months off every 2 years, until I get retired in 6 years.
I would like to gain more sailing experience in different waters and weather conditions. Would like to learn more about maintenance and keeping the boat safe. Would like to learn from more experienced sailors about all the aspects involved in around the world cruising. These are long term goals.
I am very interested in having conversations with people of different backgrounds. Sharing life experiences, opinions...
I wish I get lucky in this group, I’m having big hopes to make this happen and make some unforgettable sailing memories on the water, could be in the Caribbean, Antilles, Central, South America, Panama, Pacific, who knows…
