Looking for a Mile building, Novice Crew, Friendship or Voluntary work position
Crew Available | Feb 2026 and onwards| West coast of Europe (Portugal, Canary Islands, Azores - Flexible)
Hi skippers,
I am looking for a cost-sharing or volunteer crewing opportunity from January/February 2026 and onwards — ideally sailing from Portugal, Madeira, or the Canary Islands, with a possible leg toward the Azores, but can also be France, UK, Scandinavia.
⛵️ About me:
Recently completed JSM certificate (Polish Coastal Skipper), currently finalizing RYA SRC, probably STCW still this year
Calm, reliable, non-smoking, no alcohol
Happy to share daily costs and fully participate in watches, maintenance, and provisioning
10+ years in supply chain management (planning, forecasting, logistics) — skilled in organization, teamwork, and problem-solving under pressure
Fluent in English, used to international environments and collaborative work
I am looking to build offshore miles and experience while contributing actively to the boat and crew.
If you are planning a voyage within this period and could use a capable extra hand — please drop me a message!
Fair winds,
Jakob
I try to make the most of every moment, fulfill more and more dreams, just live. I love long-distance travel, I used to ride a motorcycle (sold last January), often by bicycle nowadays. Privately a wanderluster, I drove alone over Australia (North to South), I traveled solo by trains through India (West to East and back), I did trekking around Annapurna. I used to be visiting South-East Asia (and still do), I plan to go to South America, Africa, Canada, Japan and round the World on the motorcycle and obviously Sail around the World :)
Single, childless, non-smoker, rarely drinker, I look for every opportunity to be a part of the sailing community before embarking on my own adventure.
Done in 2024 so far:
February, 1 week (commercial) - Tenerife - Madeira - Tenerife, 650 nM
May, 1 week (commercial) - Brest - Bristol, 335 nM
