Looking for a Deckhand position

esteemed vessel. Having grown up near the ocean and spent a considerable amount of time at the coast of Mossel
Bay, South Africa, I have developed a deep appreciation for the marine environment. This, coupled
with my desire to pursue a career in the yachting industry, has fuelled my aspiration to work as a
Deckhand on a superyacht. I am eager to bring my skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to delivering
exceptional service to this role.
Here are some key qualifications that make me a strong candidate for the Deckhand position:
Experience: In addition to my qualifying courses, I have done a Yacht delivery from the port of Cape Town to the Islands of Seychelles (3000 NM) as well as taking part in an additional internship upon the
Kiyana (S/V 42 ft) as well as Blue Pointer (M/Y 40 ft), during 2023.
I have managed to show my potential during the internship receiving the honor of being appointed
as the intern that showed most progress and also winning the prize for best theoretical student.
I am well-versed in maintaining the exterior of the vessel, including painting, varnishing, and general
upkeep. I possess a comprehensive understanding of maritime navigation, knot tying and boat
handling techniques. I am proficient in operating a variety of watercraft, including power boats and
jet skis, and I hold all necessary certifications, (included herewith).
Guest-Focused Approach: I understand the importance of delivering an exceptional experience to
guests on board. I am highly skilled in anticipating their needs, providing a warm and welcoming
atmosphere, and ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. I am confident in my ability to
maintain the highest level of professionalism and discretion while interacting with guests.
Team Player Mentality: I thrive in collaborative environments and excel in working as part of a tight-
knit crew. I am adaptable, flexible, and willing to assist in various tasks as needed. I believe effective
communication, cooperation, and respect are crucial to maintaining a harmonious working
environment.

pride in my ability to consistently deliver high-quality work, ensuring that the vessel is always in

my role.
