Looking for a Deckhand position

The past two years have been challenging and exciting as I had the opportunity to
be appointed to the position of deckhand and senior deckhand on several yacht
deliveries. I have gained extensive experience through these opportunities and are
now even more committed to achieve my goal of securing a position onboard a
Super vessel. This perseverance has strengthened my work ethic and reinforced
my determination to succeed at sea.
I understand the competitive nature of this industry and I am willing to accept a
negotiated salary to gain the opportunity to prove myself and grow even further
within a professional crew environment.
Growing up near the ocean in Mossel Bay, South Africa, I developed a lifelong
appreciation for the marine environment. This connection, combined with hands
on experience in the yachting industry, has solidified my aspiration to build a
career at sea.
Highlights of my qualifications include:
• Extensive Experience at Sea: (9695 NM)
I was appointed to perform three international Yacht deliveries from Cape Town to
the Seychelles, (one of them via Mayotte). The vessels included a Leopard 45
Catamaran (S/Y), a Leopard 42 Catamaran (S/Y) and a Leopard 53 Catamaran
(M/Y). (More detail available on my CV).
Before that I have completed internships aboard Kiyana (S/Y 42 ft) and Blue
Pointer (M/Y 40 ft) in 2023. During these experiences, I honed my skills in vessel
maintenance, navigation, knot tying, and boat handling, earning recognition as the
most improved intern and the best theoretical student.

while ensuring their safety and comfort. My ability to anticipate needs and provide
exceptional service reflects my dedication to maintaining the highest standards of
professionalism.
• Unique Perspective from Special Needs Education:
As a teaching assistant at a school for special needs, I worked with learners
requiring specialist educational support, including those with Autism, Asperger
Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, and ADHD. This role strengthened my ability to
remain patient, adaptable, and attentive in challenging situations. These qualities
translate seamlessly to the yachting industry, enabling me to manage diverse
personalities, address individual needs, and ensure a harmonious onboard
experience for guests and crew alike.

Collaboration is the cornerstone of any successful crew, and I thrive in team
environments where communication, respect, and adaptability are paramount. (I
