Looking for a Steward(ess), 2nd Steward/ess, 3rd Steward/ess or Solo Steward/ess position
Having recently come out of 10 + years in healthcare as a senior healthcare support worker I am looking to change direction.
I have recently renewed my STCW, ENG1, food hygiene level 2 certificates and am looking for work to start asap.
I have vast hospitality as well as healthcare experience, having worked 3 seasons onboard varied sizes of motor yachts in all interior departments although more heavily focused on housekeeping and cooking for crew, along with private and head chefs. I have worked as a solo stew as well as in larger teams of up to 45 crew. I have 2 full summer seasons experience in and around the med and one winter season in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami in temporary roles on motor yachts, I would however also be keen to take a position onboard a sailing yacht.
Having worked not only onboard yachts but also in the setup of a restaurant in London including management, admin and service. I have worked as a cocktail waitress, server/waitress, a cleaner in a small hotel in the southern French alps. I was also lucky enough to spend a season working in an high end echo safari lodge in the heart of the Nepali jungle as a guest relations officer. In this role I oversaw a large team of Nepali housekeepers, dining and service staff and kitchen staff. We hosted the world elephant polo championships where I co-ordinated international teams for a week long tournament including outside activities. Other roles included welcoming guests, organising safari's, luggage management, office admin, dining with guests, co-ordinating medical emergencies and airlifts out of the jungle and generally being there at all times as a face of the lodge in an extremely remote setting.
Although I have been out of yachting for some time now, I have remained working in service to people under extremely high-pressured circumstances, particularly working on the front line on hospital wards during the covid 19 pandemic. I am very much looking forward to working in new exciting environments as part of a team utilising the broad skill set I have gained over the years.
I have studied nursing (although no longer a registered nurse due to taking time out), holistic therapies, traditional Chinese medicine and 5 element acupuncture and to be an end of life doula.
I have a great interest in health and wellbeing, eastern medicine and philosophy as well as enjoying, music, yoga, cooking, skiing, art, photography and travelling off the beaten track.
I am friendly and easy to get along with, with a strong work ethic, professional attitude with no job too big or too small.
